Questions Los Altos patients ask

Is any endodontist open weekends near Los Altos?

Weekend endodontic availability is very limited on the mid-Peninsula — most Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and Mountain View endodontic offices are Monday–Friday only. Silicon Valley Endodontics in Sunnyvale is about 10–15 minutes south via El Camino Real or Foothill Expressway, and is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 3 PM with a specialist endodontist on site. Call (669) 234-2354 first to confirm a chair.

How long does it take to drive from Los Altos to your Sunnyvale office?

About 10–15 minutes from downtown Los Altos or Los Altos Hills. El Camino Real S or Foothill Expressway → Fremont Avenue are the two most predictable routes. We're at 1565 Hollenbeck Avenue, Suite 106, Sunnyvale, with free on-site parking.

I'm in severe pain right now — what should I do before I get there?

If you tolerate NSAIDs, take 600 mg ibuprofen with food (Tylenol is the backup if ibuprofen is contraindicated). Avoid heat on the affected side and don't chew on that tooth. Call (669) 234-2354 so we can confirm a chair before you leave. Spreading facial swelling toward the eye or neck, fever, or trouble swallowing or breathing is a medical emergency — go to an ER first (El Camino Hospital is the closest).

Do you see Stanford- and El Camino Hospital–affiliated patients?

Yes — many of our Los Altos and Los Altos Hills patients are Stanford faculty, El Camino physicians, and retirees with dental PPO benefits through Stanford or Sutter Health. We accept most major dental PPO plans and verify benefits before treatment.

Will my Los Altos general dentist receive a report?

Yes. We send a full diagnostic and treatment summary — CBCT findings, operative notes, and post-op instructions — to your referring dentist within 24 hours so your general dentist can place the final crown and coordinate follow-up.

Does insurance cover an emergency or weekend root canal?

Most dental PPOs cover root canal treatment on the same terms whether it's a weekday or a weekend. We're in-network with most major plans and submit the claim on your behalf — have your insurance card ready when you call.
