Questions Palo Alto patients ask
Is any endodontist open weekends near Palo Alto?
Weekend endodontic availability is limited on the Peninsula — most offices around Palo Alto and Menlo Park are Monday–Friday only. Silicon Valley Endodontics, 22 minutes south via El Camino Real or I-280, is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 3 PM with a specialist endodontist on site. Availability changes, so call (669) 234-2354 before you drive down.
How long does it take to drive from Palo Alto to your Sunnyvale office?
About 18–22 minutes door-to-door from downtown Palo Alto, Stanford, or Town & Country Village. I-280 S to Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road is the most predictable route; El Camino Real is faster off-peak. We're at 1565 Hollenbeck Avenue, Suite 106, with free on-site parking.
I'm in pain right now — what should I do before I get there?
Take 600 mg ibuprofen with food if you tolerate NSAIDs (Tylenol is the backup if ibuprofen is contraindicated). Avoid heat on the affected side. Don't chew on that tooth. Call (669) 234-2354 so we can confirm a chair before you leave. Spreading swelling toward the eye or neck, fever, or trouble swallowing is a medical emergency — go to an ER first.
Do you see Stanford-affiliated patients and faculty?
Yes — many of our Palo Alto patients are Stanford faculty, staff, and graduate students. We accept most major dental PPO plans, including the carriers offered through Stanford's benefits program. Bring your insurance card and we'll verify benefits before treatment.
Will my Palo Alto general dentist receive a report?
Yes. We send a full diagnostic and treatment summary — including CBCT findings and operative notes — to your referring dentist after every visit so your general dentist can place the final crown and coordinate follow-up care.
Does insurance cover an emergency or weekend root canal?
Most dental insurance plans cover root canal treatment as a standard benefit on the same terms whether it's a Tuesday or a Sunday. We submit the claim on your behalf — have your insurance information ready when you call.
