Root canal treatment is a dental procedure used to treat infected tooth pulp. The pulp is the soft tissue core of the tooth which contains nerves, blood supply and connective tissue necessary for tooth health. This is usually caused when bacteria enters the pulp through a deep cavity or failed filling.
A Root Canal Treatment may sound spine-chilling, but there is little to no pain. The patient will always be numb before a procedure. This allows for the patient to feel comfortable during the procedure.
The cost varies on each procedure depending on the how much the tooth is affected. As well as which tooth is affected.
A Retreatment is almost identical to the original procedure. When a retreatment is needed it means the tooth may have not healed properly and remains infected. An Endodontist then goes back into the tooth and cleans out the canals. Sometimes retirement procedures are done in two visits.

An apicoectomy is a surgical procedure through which the apex of a root is resected, and a root-end filling is placed, preventing bacterial leakage into the root canal system from the periarticular tissues. A microsurgical technique is used to carry out apicectomy, which improves post-operative healing.

Extractions could be categorized into non-surgical (simple) and surgical, depending on the type of tooth to be removed and other factors.
