Cupertino-area insurance

If you work at Apple, Seagate, or another Cupertino employer

Most Cupertino-area tech employers offer Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Aetna, or Guardian PPO dental plans. We're out-of-network with all PPOs but file claims on your behalf as a courtesy:

  • PPO out-of-network reimbursement is usually only modestly less than in-network for endodontic codes (D3310/D3320/D3330) — often a $100–$300 difference depending on plan.
  • Predetermination available — for treatment plans over $500 we can submit a predetermination to your insurer so you know the exact patient portion before scheduling.
  • HSA / FSA accepted — root canal treatment is a qualified medical expense.
  • DHMO plans (like Cigna DHMO or DeltaCare): we cannot file these claims; we'll do our best to provide a fair self-pay estimate.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a root canal cost in Cupertino?

Out-of-pocket cost depends on the tooth, your insurance plan, and whether retreatment or microsurgery is needed. With a major Bay Area PPO, patient share at our office typically runs $200–$1,400 for first-time root canal treatment. We file with all major PPOs as a courtesy and give you a written estimate before any treatment.

Do you accept my Cupertino employer's dental insurance?

Most Cupertino tech employers (Apple, Seagate, Trend Micro, etc.) offer Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, or Aetna PPOs. We're out-of-network with all PPOs but file claims on your behalf and are typically reimbursed at the out-of-network rate, which is usually only modestly less than in-network. Email your insurance card to siliconvalleyendo@gmail.com and we'll verify benefits before your visit.

How does the cost compare to a Cupertino general dentist's root canal?

A specialist endodontist (us) and a general dentist may bill the same CDT code (D3310/D3320/D3330) at similar fees in Cupertino. The difference is what's included: every visit at our office uses surgical microscope + CBCT when needed + rubber dam isolation. For molars and retreatments — where missed canals are common — that workflow is what drives long-term success rates.

Is the cost the same as Sunnyvale or San Jose?

Yes — our office serves all of the South Bay from a single Sunnyvale location, and we charge the same fees regardless of which city you live in. Cupertino patients typically drive 10–15 minutes; we validate parking and offer Saturday hours.

What if I can't afford the out-of-pocket cost?

We offer CareCredit financing (often 0% APR for 6–12 months), accept HSA/FSA, and can sometimes split treatment across two benefit years to maximize annual insurance maximums. Call (669) 234-2354 — we'd rather help you afford treatment than have you lose a tooth.

Why is a molar root canal more expensive than a front tooth?

Molars typically have 3–4 canals (sometimes more, including the MB2 canal in upper molars), take roughly twice as long to treat, and require advanced anatomy mapping with microscope and CBCT. The CDT code (D3330) and insurance fee schedules reflect that complexity.
