Questions Fremont patients ask

Is any endodontist open weekends near Fremont?

Weekend endodontic availability is rare in the East Bay — most Fremont, Newark, and Union City offices are Monday–Friday only. Silicon Valley Endodontics, about 17–25 minutes south via I-880 to CA-237 (or the Dumbarton Bridge to US-101), is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 3 PM with a specialist endodontist on site. Call (669) 234-2354 first to confirm a chair.

How long does it take to drive from Fremont to your Sunnyvale office?

About 17–25 minutes depending on traffic and neighborhood. From Mission San Jose or Warm Springs, I-880 S to CA-237 W is fastest; from Ardenwood or central Fremont, the Dumbarton Bridge (CA-84) to US-101 S is comparable. We're at 1565 Hollenbeck Avenue, Suite 106, Sunnyvale, with free on-site parking.

I'm in severe pain right now — what should I do before I get there?

If you tolerate NSAIDs, take 600 mg ibuprofen with food (Tylenol is the backup). Avoid heat on the affected side and don't chew on that tooth. Call (669) 234-2354 so we can confirm a chair before you leave Fremont. Spreading facial swelling toward the eye or neck, fever, or trouble swallowing or breathing is a medical emergency — go to an ER first (Washington Hospital or Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley).

Do you speak Mandarin or Cantonese?

Yes. Dr. Kung speaks Mandarin and conversational Cantonese, and members of our front-office team speak Mandarin. Many of our Fremont, Mission San Jose, and Milpitas patients prefer to discuss treatment in Chinese — see our dedicated page at svendodontics.com/mandarin-speaking-endodontist-bay-area.

Will my Fremont general dentist receive a report?

Yes. We send a full diagnostic and treatment summary — CBCT findings, operative notes, and post-op instructions — to your referring dentist within 24 hours so your general dentist can coordinate the final crown and follow-up.

Does insurance cover an emergency or weekend root canal?

Most dental PPOs cover root canal treatment on the same terms whether it's a weekday or a weekend. We're in-network with most major plans and submit the claim on your behalf — have your insurance card ready when you call.
