Yes. Treatment estimates, consent forms, and post-operative care instructions are available in both Simplified Chinese (简体中文) and Traditional Chinese (繁體中文) upon request. We see Mandarin-speaking patients from Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Fremont, Milpitas, San Jose (especially Evergreen and Berryessa), Foster City, and the larger Bay Area Chinese-American community. Many patients are referred by Chinese-speaking general dentists across Santa Clara County.

I have insurance through a tech employer (Google, Apple, Meta, NVIDIA, LinkedIn, etc.) — do you accept it?

Accepted Answer

We accept and bill PPO plans from all major carriers (Delta Dental PPO, MetLife, Cigna, Aetna, Guardian, United Concordia, Anthem Blue Cross). We are out-of-network for most, which means we file claims on your behalf and you receive your full PPO benefits at our standard fees. We'll provide a clear written estimate in Mandarin before any treatment, with the specific procedure codes (D3310, D3320, D3330 for root canal; D3346, D3347, D3348 for retreatment) and what your insurance is expected to pay.

Is Dr. Kung's Mandarin native-level?

Dr. Kung is comfortable conducting full clinical visits in Mandarin — from history-taking and diagnosis through treatment explanation, informed consent, and post-operative review. Conversational dental Mandarin is what he uses most days; he's not a literary-prose speaker but he is fully fluent for everything a dental visit requires.

I had a root canal that's still bothering me — can I get a second opinion in Mandarin?

Yes. Second-opinion consultations are one of the most common reasons Mandarin-speaking patients come to us — often after a procedure they didn't fully understand at a different office. We review your X-rays, take a CBCT 3D scan if needed, and explain the findings in Mandarin step-by-step. If retreatment or surgery is the right answer, we'll tell you. If not, we'll tell you that too.
